Elias Habelrih

Known as the Gentle Giant, Elias has volunteered for over 15 years as basketball coach for Sydney East Special Olympics because his son Richard’s team needed a coach. Now Head Coach for the Sydney East region, he not only coaches but takes athletes away to regional competitions, and drives the team bus!  

In March 2019, he was the team coach for the Australian Women’s basketball team bringing home ‘Gold’ at the World Games in Abu-Dhabi. His focus is on all players from those who can barely dribble a ball to those who wish to compete at the elite level.  

Elias is the proud parent of an amazing young man on the autism spectrum and on a professional level is an investor and developer
